As part of YUDesign, a group of students within Generación Espontánea UPV initiative at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), we presented the furniture collection, "Reencuentro". This project represents a heartfelt journey into the past, capturing the essence of Valencian heritage through contemporary design.

L'ALBUFERA DE VALÈNCIA

Reencuentro is more than just a furniture collection; it is a narrative woven through design, honoring the past while inspiring future generations. Through this work, we aim to reconnect with the essence of Valencian heritage, promoting a sustainable and meaningful dialogue between history and contemporary life.

The collection draws deeply from the rich cultural tapestry of the València region, particularly inspired by the traditional fishing practices in L'Albufera. Each piece in the collection symbolizes the profound connection between the past and the future, crafted meticulously to reflect the authenticity and enduring spirit of our heritage.

THE COLLECTION

ANELL LAMP

Inspired by traditional fishing buoys, the Anell lamp illuminates the room while casting light on the valuable cultural heritage of Valencia. It serves as a beacon, preserving traditions at risk of fading away. The lamp embodies visibility and awareness, highlighting the significance of cultural preservation.

MORNELL ARMCHAIR

The Mornell armchair takes its cues from the intricate fishing nets of the region, offering a comforting embrace that evokes a sense of authenticity and tradition. Sitting in Mornell feels like being enveloped by the past, fostering a deep connection with cultural roots.

ANCORA TABLE

Inspired by the docks and piers of La Albufera, the Ancora table stands as a symbol of the meeting point between land and sea. This piece represents unity and continuity, bridging generations and encouraging progress towards a better future.

NUDE

The journey in creating "Reencuentro" was supported by dedicated professors at ETSID, UPV. The collection was proudly showcased at the Feria Internacional del Mueble, Iluminación y Decoración de Valencia from September 19 to 22, within the Nude space dedicated to emerging design talents. This platform, backed by the Catedra IDC of the UPV, provided an exceptional opportunity to display our work and celebrate the intersection of tradition and innovation.
